at the Church of Christ, 1747 W. Laurel Street, San Antonio, Texas?

We are a congregation of the New Testament order founded by our Lord Jesus Christ on the first Pentecost after His resurrection in the year 33 AD, in the city of Jerusalem (Acts 2). We preach the Gospel Plan of Salvation according to the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (I Cor. 15:1-4; Rom. 6:1-6). We are given the Holy Spirit upon our obedience to the new birth (Acts 2:38) and are added by the Lord Jesus to His church (Acts 2:47). We abide by the Apostles Doctrine stated in the New Testament, and may only be obtained through study, teaching and preaching (Romans 10:14-17). Our plea is for unity among believers prayed for by our Lord (John 17:20-21). The purpose of this statement is to let all that visit or desire to place membership with us, know beforehand the purpose and practice of this congregation. Our congregation is inter-racial, but predominately black
American. To place membership: We ask for a letter, which shows you are in fellowship with your previous congregation of the church of Christ. We do not believe there are Christians in denominational churches.
The above statements are made to eliminate time, high blood pressure and Bible discussions concerning the congregation called the Laurel Street church of Christ. |
