68th Anniversary
The highlight of our Program of Work for 2003 is our Gospel -Revival Meeting featuring one of the nations leading preaching evangelist in the person of Dr. Willie F. Washington, Sr., of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Gospel-Revival will begin on Sunday, April 13th and conclude on Thursday, April 17th.
Having preached his first sermon at the age of nine while traveling with the famous Marshall Keeble; Brother Washington has since traversed the United States and several foreign countries during his 47 years in the pulpit of the church of Christ. Dr. Washington accepted the pulpit ministry of the Golden Heights church of Christ in 1974, and has lead that church from 126 members to over 4,000 roll membership. Under his preaching and leadership abilities, the Golden Heights church baptizes 150 to 200 members each year.
The Laurel Street congregation is forging ahead with its plans of expanding their facilities, the acquisition of a Spanish speaking minister for its neighborhood outreach ministry, reviving their radio ministry and supporting several mission works. Under the theme: “Let Us See Our Vision in 2003.” The visions of evangelist Joseph C. Walsh, Jr., for the past three years will prayerfully become a reality in the very near future. Our Anniversary program will consist of a Fellowship Dinner and the Monthly Fellowship Singing, with services beginning at 10 A.M. and continuing until 5 P.M.
